Karoline Leavitt, 28, announced she is expecting her second child in May 2026 with her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 60. She shared a festive Instagram post showing her baby bump in front of a Christmas tree, saying, “My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother.” She added that she feels “grateful to God for the blessing of motherhood.”
There has been speculation about who will take over Leavitt’s White House duties during her maternity leave. However, Lara Trump clarified on Fox News that Leavitt will continue her role as White House spokesperson and press secretary. “Karoline Leavitt is a machine. She’s incredible. And she’s going nowhere. Nobody is next in line. She can do everything,” Lara said. She noted that Leavitt previously worked through her first pregnancy during the Trump campaign, delivering her son Niko and returning to work within days.
Lara also highlighted the White House’s family-friendly environment, including scheduling meetings to allow parents to drop children off at school. She suggested that Leavitt will continue performing her duties even in the later stages of her pregnancy.
Leavitt shared Lara’s interview clip on X, writing, “Thank you Lara!” Fans responded with praise, calling her a “real-life Wonder Woman” and congratulating her on her pregnancy.
Leavitt’s pregnancy has also drawn public attention due to the 32-year age gap with her husband and comments about her appearance, including alleged cosmetic fillers visible in a Vanity Fair photo.
