Helldivers 2 has become a breakout success for Arrowhead Game Studios, capturing the attention of players around the world since its launch in 2024 on PlayStation 5 and PC. Unlike its top-down predecessor, this new instalment shifted to a third-person cooperative shooter format, winning praise for its fast-paced gameplay, sharp humour, and intense combat.
Despite a rocky start with a controversial PlayStation Network (PSN) login requirement for PC players, Arrowhead quickly addressed the issue. The studio has since continued to support the game with major free content updates, solidifying Helldivers 2 as a standout example of successful cross-platform gaming, at least between PS5 and PC.
However, Xbox players remain left out. The game is not available on Xbox Series X|S, and there’s no confirmed timeline suggesting that could change. With many modern titles launching first on select platforms before expanding, fans are hoping Helldivers 2 might eventually make its way to Xbox, but no official announcement has been made to support that expectation.
For now, Helldivers 2 remains a PlayStation console exclusive, leaving Xbox users waiting and wondering if they’ll ever get to join the fight for managed democracy.
