One of the most beloved revivals amongst the vast world of OTT programming, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is a touching and funny return to Stars Hollow featuring iconic Mother/Daughter duo Lorelai and Rory. The series depicts how they will face life’s ups and downs through the nostalgic memories of each of the four seasons present in this current miniseries offering.
The anticipation for Season 2 continues as fans relate to the themes of family drama, emotions, generations, and, of course, the fast-paced wit that made Gilmore Girls a classic! Since its premiere, Netflix has not yet renewed the miniseries; however, there have been various hints provided by both Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson regarding potential future projects and offers from fellow cast members to return for these potential projects. Additionally, as of October 2023, Netflix has not renewed the show despite an expectation of it being revived due to the anticipation of the show’s 25th Anniversary in 2025.

Fans of the original Series, Gilmore Girls, had their doubts about whether or not a revival would happen after the four-part special ended with a cliffhanger; Rory is pregnant (implied to be Logan’s child), and Lorelei was in a similar situation at the end of the original show. Therefore, even though it’s been a few years since these original episodes aired, this entire situation, plus the fact that Gilmore Girls continues to be so popular with streaming services & DVD releases, has kept this show (and the entire franchise) in high demand.
There is still a possibility that we may hear some kind of news from Netflix or from the creators of Gilmore Girls, or you’d think so, given the large following all of these shows have developed.
As of now, the door hasn’t been completely closed on another revival of the show; there are no known plans in place for the making of another revival.
