Cardi B, one of the biggest names in American rap, has made history as the female rapper with the most number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and the only woman to achieve multiple solo number ones. Recently, she’s been in the spotlight not just for her music, but for pregnancy rumours and a court case that has captured public attention.
The pregnancy speculation started when Cardi shared a video of herself rapping to her latest single, Imaginary Playerz, wearing a black bodysuit. Rumours intensified after she appeared at a trial in loose clothing, seemingly covering her midsection. Cardi didn’t stay silent for long. On an Instagram Live, she addressed the rumours directly, denying them with her signature fiery tone. When a fan asked if she was 30 weeks pregnant, she snapped:
“’Look, 30 weeks pregnant?’ No, you stupid bch. I’m just fk out of breath ’cause I have asthma… Stop fking being fking funny in this bch before you get motherfking blocked, bch. Stupid a comment, don’t put that shit on me, b**ch.”
Her live response confirmed she wasn’t expecting another child. Yet just hours later, Cardi added fuel to the gossip by tweeting, “But AM I?” alongside a GIF of Tokyo Toni raising her eyebrows, leaving fans wondering if there’s more to the story.
Meanwhile, Cardi has also been in court over a 2020 lawsuit filed by security guard Emani Ellis. Ellis claimed Cardi physically assaulted her, causing emotional distress and injuries. During cross-examination, Cardi’s lawyer argued that Ellis was the aggressor and that Cardi, who was pregnant at the time, acted in self-defense out of fear. The lawyer highlighted that Cardi was confused and trying to protect her unborn child from someone charging at her.
On the personal front, Cardi and her estranged husband Offset share three children. Their daughter Kulture was born in 2018, their son Wave in 2021, and their youngest daughter, Blossom, arrived in 2024, just months after Cardi filed for divorce in July of that year.
