As Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour heads into its final U.S. shows, the city of Indianapolis is rolling out a grand welcome for the pop icon. Ahead of Swift’s three-night run at Lucas Oil Stadium from November 1-3, Mayor Joe Hogsett has officially proclaimed the first weekend of November as “Taylor Swift Weekend” in honor of the record-breaking tour’s impact and her fans’ excitement.

Announcing the tribute on social media platform X, Hogsett emphasized the anticipated economic impact Swift’s presence will have on Indianapolis. Swift’s shows have already become a cultural phenomenon, drawing crowds at historic scales across the U.S., and Indianapolis expects no less. Citing that an estimated 4.35 million fans have attended the Eras Tour so far in 2023, Hogsett highlighted that Swift’s tour is expected to generate a “nine-figure economic impact” on the city—a projection that rivals the financial windfall of hosting a Super Bowl. The New Orleans stop alone reportedly infused over $500 million into the metro economy, while Indianapolis officials estimate Swift’s impact could potentially surpass that.
“Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has transcended music and become a cultural and economic powerhouse,” Mayor Hogsett stated in his proclamation, adding that the honor goes beyond just the music. “She’s not only bringing joy to millions but also making an incredible contribution to the cities she performs in.”
The Eras Tour’s impact has extended well beyond ticket sales, with local hotels, restaurants, and retailers reporting full bookings and surges in demand in anticipation of the Swifties flocking to Indianapolis. Local businesses have prepared themed promotions, special menus, and exclusive Swift-inspired merchandise, aiming to enhance fans’ experience during their stay.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has set numerous records, becoming one of the highest-grossing tours of all time. Since its debut, the tour has garnered massive fan and media attention, reflecting Swift’s unparalleled global influence. The final U.S. leg in Indianapolis marks a closing chapter in Swift’s historic journey across the country before she takes her show to international audiences.
