Imogen Faith Reid recently opened up about her experience working with Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo on Hulu’s Good American Family. Reid, who plays Natalia Grace in the show, admitted to secretly fangirling over Pompeo, who has been a major influence on her. Despite her admiration, Reid chose not to reveal her love for Grey’s Anatomy to Pompeo while on set, fearing it might create an uncomfortable dynamic. She said, “She is very much a role model for me. I did love Grey’s Anatomy and I never told her because I didn’t want to weird her out.”

Reid, who is in a leading role for the first time on television, described the experience as both exciting and stressful. She recalled a moment when she struggled to find her camera mark on set. Pompeo, ever the supportive co-star, stepped in to help by having the crew adjust the framing so Reid could get a better sense of the scene. This, Reid said, was a “real learning moment” for her, and she appreciated Pompeo’s guidance.

Pompeo’s support went beyond just the technical aspects of acting. Reid said that Pompeo taught her the importance of finding her voice as an actress, especially in a high-pressure situation. “For my first job, I was shy; I was a bit intimidated, and she always made me feel so comfortable. It was just a real gift for me to have somebody like her to learn from,” Reid shared.

Reid’s positive experience with Pompeo has left a lasting impact, and she’ll carry the lessons Pompeo taught her into her future roles. Fans can watch Pompeo in her first TV role outside Grey’s Anatomy, portraying Kristine, alongside Reid’s Natalia Grace in Good American Family on Hulu.
