Since Joe Locke made his debut in Agatha All Along, fans have been buzzing with theories about his character’s true identity. Known as “Teen,” he’s cloaked in mystery, protected by a sigil that prevents witches from discovering who he is.

Locke, best known for his role in Heartstopper, adds a new layer of joy to a series already brimming with it. Teen first encounters Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) while she’s trapped in a mental state created by Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) at the end of WandaVision. Having been imprisoned in her own mind for three years, Agatha is freed by Teen, who invites her to join him on the Witches’ Road. This mystical journey promises to grant the traveler their heart’s desire—if they can survive the challenges along the way. If Agatha could learn Teen’s identity, she might grasp why he’s so eager to undertake this perilous quest.

At this point, Agatha has agreed to guide Teen, hoping to reclaim her lost powers and assist him in achieving his own goals. The enigma surrounding Teen has led many Marvel fans to speculate about who he might be and where he originates from. Among the myriad of theories, one particularly stands out.

Could Teen be Wanda’s son, Billy, also known as Wiccan? In the comics, Wiccan is one of Wanda’s children who inherits her magical abilities. Teen has dropped several hints that suggest this connection. He mentions having a deceased mother and hints at experiencing something traumatic in his youth. Could his fascination with dark magic stem from being created by the Scarlet Witch out of her sorrow?

However, episode 3 introduced another intriguing theory: Teen might be Nicholas Scratch, Agatha’s son, who she allegedly sacrificed to obtain the Darkhold. One Reddit user has proposed an even more elaborate theory—that Teen is both Billy and Nicholas Scratch.

This theory posits that Teen is Nicholas, who was exchanged for the Darkhold, but upon the destruction of the book, he reemerged as Wanda’s son. While this idea is complex, it reflects the intricate storytelling often found in Marvel comics. It raises additional questions about what Teen is truly seeking on the Witches’ Road. Is he in search of Wanda, who seemed defeated at the conclusion of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Or is he trying to resurrect his twin, Tommy, from the Westview reality?

There are numerous angles to explore, and unfortunately, we don’t have any definitive answers yet. What is evident, though, is that Marvel doesn’t introduce characters without purpose. Although not all their projects are flawless, they recognize valuable character opportunities. Nicholas Scratch is likely to receive some development, and Wiccan’s role in the Young Avengers seems too promising to overlook.

Of course, it’s also entirely possible that Teen is none of these characters. This whimsical and inventive series keeps fans guessing, which means viewers should keep tuning into Agatha All Along every Wednesday for more magical revelations. Who knows? Episode 4 might finally shed light on Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal and unveil her true identity and intentions.
