Ice Age is coming back with a sixth movie. Disney revealed the title and release date at the D23 Expo on August 30, and fans are thrilled. The new film is called Ice Age: Boiling Point and will hit theaters on February 5, 2027. It’s the first Ice Age movie since Collision Course in 2016.
The plot is still mostly a mystery, but the official description promises a wild adventure. Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and the rest of the herd will face dinosaurs, lava, and explore new parts of the Lost World. The movie will bring back familiar voices, including Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, and Simon Pegg.
The Ice Age franchise started in 2002 and has released four sequels and a spinoff since. The 2016 movie made over 400 million dollars worldwide, and all the films together have earned 3.2 billion dollars globally. Alongside Ice Age, Disney also announced other projects like Tron: Ares, Zootopia 2, and Toy Story 5.
