I Kissed a Girl Season 2 (the BBC Three/BBC iPlayer LGBTQ+ dating show) has been confirmed as its last season and is expected to air in the spring/summer of 2025.
It is the spin-off all-female programme to I Kissed a Boy, which is the UK’s first lesbian/bisexual-specific dating series. Season 1 premiered on 5 May 2024.
I Kissed A Girl Season 2: Release details
It will be broadcast on BBC Three & BBC iPlayer (shows usually premiere on iPlayer before airing on BBC Three).
Expected Air Dates: Spring/Summer 2026 and likely around May (like Season 1) or a bit earlier or later, depending on production. Some sources say “this spring” or “this summer”, but there have been no announcements yet.
Show Format: Nine episodes plus a reunion special (similar to Season 1 format). Ten single queer women will meet for the first time through a series of kisses at an idyllic masseria (villa) in Italy, where they will build relationships, navigate various obstacles/challenges and create drama along the way.
The teaser trailer was released approximately two weeks before the show’s Valentine’s Day premiere (February 14th, 2026) to build excitement with a trademark chaotic and genuine lesbian vibe.
I Kissed A Girl Season 2: Cast news
- Host: Dannii Minogue returns as the cupid (host).
- Narrator: Charley Marlowe (also known as Charlotte Driftwood in some credits) returns for witty commentary.
- Contestants: The new cast for Season 2 has not been publicly revealed yet. Casting calls were open in mid-2025 for queer women interested in participating. Fans hope for greater diversity compared to Season 1.
Season 1 contestants included women like Cara, Georgia, Naee, Priya, and others (full line-up was announced in April 2024). Some formed lasting connections, and follow-ups (“where are they now”) have appeared.
I Kissed A Girl Season 2: Everything we know so far
Produced by Twofour, the show centres on building a powerful relationship through physical intimacy (kissing), social relations (group/dynamic), and emotional growth in an idyllic location (Italy)
Cancelled: Both BBC shows (I Kissed a Girl / I Kissed A Boy) were cancelled by the BBC in March 2026 after the completion of the “I Kissed a Girl” final season as a result of financial constraints (cost-cutting). Despite the shows’ popularity and cultural influence as pioneers for LGBTQ+ representation, fans and host Dannii Minogue voiced their disappointment with the cancellation; however, there were still hopes of a new series. At this time, no further seasons are in development; however, there is disagreement over whether the format may find life at a different production company.
Reception: Season one was well received for its emotional connectivity, drama, representation, and awards recognition (i.e., DIVA awards). Ultimately, it filled an unaddressed need for a dating show that was focused on sapphic people.
Updates: For all updates regarding the upcoming series premiere, please check with the official BBC iPlayer, BBC media centre or follow host Dannii Minogue on social media, as additional information (i.e., premiere date/full cast) is likely to be released closer to the premiere. According to the trailer, season 1 of I Kissed A Girl will continue to feature the same emotional, chaotic, joyful experience as evidenced by episode 1.
