On March 28th, 2026, at AnimeJapan 2026, it was confirmed that I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too Season 2 (also known as Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru or Iseleve) is being made!

While production has started, there are no details yet on when the show will be released or what the count of episodes will be. There has been a teaser visual released along with the announcement.

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World Season 2: Release date speculation.

The speculation of when the release of season 2 will occur ranges from early to mid-2027 (with some optimistically guessing even late 2026, 10-12+ months after an actual announcement). This general timeline matches what is found in typical production cycles for anime; it is expected that there will be a one-hour special that will air first (March 29, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video/FOD in Japan; then prime-time broadcast on March 30, 2026), which can act as a link between season 1 and season 2.

While no studio has been confirmed yet for season 2 (though Millepensee handled season 1 and the special), there are many who expect to see them back again. This will continue to be an ongoing story, so be sure to check back here often for any further updates on when we can expect to see a confirmed release date and more information.

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World Season 2: Cast

The main voice cast from Season 1 is widely expected to return (no official confirmation yet for Season 2, but this is standard unless stated otherwise):

  • Yūya Tenjō: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Japanese) / Lee George (English)
  • Kaori Hōjō: Akari Kitō (Japanese) / Kelsey Maher (English)
  • Lexia von Arselia: Kaori Maeda (Japanese) / Kelly Greenshield (English)
  • Luna: Ai Kakuma (Japanese)

Additional Season 1 voices include characters like Kaede Kazama (Ayana Taketatsu) and others. The TV special introduces new cast members (e.g., Kenta Miyake as Gilbert “Fist Saint” Pfister, Shigeru Chiba as Oma the “Genesis Dragon,” and Marina Inoue in a key role), but these are for the special and may or may not carry directly into Season 2.

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World Season 2: Plot Details

The plot of the series focuses on the teenage character, Yūya Tenjō, who has experienced bullying and a lack of confidence, until he discovers a portal into the fantasy world of Argena, the lost properties of his deceased grandfather. In the fantasy world, Yūya instantly has access to powerful cheat-like abilities, planets of character to develop, legendary gear, and ultimately becomes very powerful.

The story is told through Yūya’s experience in two parallel lines, with the first line detailing his experience growing up in the real world through his experiences at a highly regarded academy, forming relationships with friends and dealing with his past abuse, and the second line exploring his experiences in the fantasy world, which includes battles with demons, gods, and long-running threats to humanity throughout time.

The first season (13 episodes that aired from April to June of 2023) was the first two volumes of the series, and included the discovery of the door to Argena, power-ups, Yūya’s life as a student, and conflict with teachers and other students. The upcoming TV special will run approximately 47 to 60 minutes long and is likely to link the end of the season with the beginning of a new storyline.

The teaser visual for season two depicts Yūya standing back to back with Ishii Noublade (or Knowblade). Ishii is armed, and it is implied that there will be new character alliances or conflicts in both the isekai (fantasy) and real worlds. Season two will continue adapting the light novel from volume four onwards, where Yūya’s character becomes increasingly involved in battles throughout the world and other potentially world-threatening incidents, and will continue to develop both his character in the real world and in the fantasy world. The series has received significant acclaim and has sold millions of copies of the light novels by Miku (with illustrations by Rein Kuwashima), with associated manga and a variety of other media in planning.
