A new celebrity couple may be emerging in the Korean entertainment world. According to several industry sources, Hyeri, the actress and former Girl’s Day member, is reportedly in a relationship with dancer Wootae. Wootae gained recognition through the hit dance competition show Street Man Fighter, where he stood out for his strong choreography skills.
The two are said to have met during the filming of Hyeri’s 2024 movie Victory, a film centered around cheerleading that required the cast to learn detailed and challenging dance routines. Wootae worked as the lead choreographer for the film, training the actors—including Hyeri—for their performances.
Their relationship reportedly began during production in Geoje, where they spent long hours practicing together. Over time, their connection is said to have developed from a working relationship into something deeper. One source familiar with the situation shared that they continued dating after returning to Seoul, and while they kept it private, the two have been seeing each other for nearly a year.
Another insider noted that their relationship has been quiet and respectful. Both Hyeri and Wootae are said to have leaned on each other during tough times, and that emotional support helped their bond grow even stronger.
Before this, Hyeri was in a well-known long-term relationship with actor Ryu Jun Yeol, her co-star from the 2015 drama Reply 1988. The couple confirmed they were dating in 2017 and were considered one of Korea’s top celebrity couples. However, after nearly seven years together, they announced their breakup in November 2023.
As for Wootae, while he might not be a household name outside of the dance world, he’s well-known among fans of choreography and performance. His skills on Street Man Fighter made him a standout, and he continues to build his career in the dance industry, earning a growing fan base along the way.
Neither Hyeri nor Wootae has officially confirmed the relationship yet, but fans are already showing interest in the possible new couple and wishing them well.
