Anne Hathaway has worked with Christopher Nolan on two movies. Her first collaboration with the acclaimed director was in 2012, when she portrayed Selina Kyle and Catwoman in *The Dark Knight Rises*. This film marked the conclusion of Nolan’s Batman trilogy and featured a cast of his longtime collaborators, including Michael Caine, Christian Bale, and Cillian Murphy.
Hathaway’s next film with Nolan was *Interstellar*, which premiered in 2014. In *Interstellar*, she starred as scientist and biologist Amelia Brand, alongside Matthew McConaughey’s Joseph Cooper. Hathaway credits her role in *Interstellar* with her semi-comeback in 2014, as Nolan reportedly did not care about the negative online discourse surrounding her at the time.
Hathaway has expressed admiration for Nolan’s directing style, describing him as “authoritative in the best sense of the word.” While she has worked with other directors on multiple films, such as Garry Marshall for *The Princess Diaries* and *Valentine’s Day*, her collaborations with Nolan have been particularly noteworthy.
