As the series approaches its penultimate arc before the epic conclusion of Tanjiro Kamado’s journey in season 5, anticipation among fans is at an all-time high. The anime adaptation by Ufotable concluded its third season on June 18, 2023, adapting chapters 98–127 of the original manga by Koyoharu Gotouge and completing the majority of the series’ 5th arc—the Swordsmith Village.

Following the successful pattern established by the third season, Demon Slayer season 4 is set to kick off with a special compilation film, providing closure to the previous arc and ushering in the highly anticipated Hashira Training arc. Titled “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training,” this film is scheduled for worldwide release on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024. It will feature footage from the final two episodes of season 3, wrapping up the Swordsmith Village Arc, along with an exclusive preview of the first episode of season 4, introducing the Hashira Training Arc.

Having premiered in Japan on Feb. 2, 2024, by Toho and Aniplex, the film offers eager fans a tantalizing glimpse into the upcoming storyline (though for the full experience, we recommend waiting for the silver screen release!). With a runtime of 1 hour and 44 minutes, “To the Hashira Training” marks the third film adaptation of the manga series and is directed by Haruo Sotozaki.

As for the plot, fans can expect a continuation of the intense training undergone by Tanjiro under the guidance of Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, as he strives to become a Hashira. Meanwhile, the relentless pursuit of Nezuko and Ubuyashiki by Muzan adds another layer of tension to the narrative. With its action-packed storyline and canonical significance, “To the Hashira Training” is a must-watch for fans eagerly awaiting the premiere of Demon Slayer season 4 in the Spring of 2024.
