Nick Jonas is clearly living his best leading man on and off the stage. In a recent heartwarming interview with Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM, the singer-actor opened up about how his wife, Priyanka Chopra, has been the ultimate rock throughout his Broadway journey with The Last Five Years.
Nick didn’t hold back when asked about Priyanka’s involvement in his latest project. “She’s been our biggest cheerleader for this whole process,” he gushed, describing her support as the “dream scenario.” He spoke with visible affection, highlighting not only her encouragement but also her genuine presence throughout rehearsals and prep.
It turns out Priyanka isn’t just supportive—she’s also a hands-on partner when it comes to the creative process. Nick shared that he often turns to her to rehearse lines or “workshop” scenes. “It’s probably not framed as notes,” he joked, “but more like, ‘Here are some thoughts.’” According to him, it’s a blessing to come home to someone who’s just as creatively invested, adding that he “can see a million scenarios” where he wouldn’t have that—and is grateful he does.
Nick stars as Jamie Wellerstein, a budding novelist, alongside Adrienne Warren’s Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. The Last Five Years—based on the acclaimed musical by Jason Robert Brown—is a heart-wrenching two-person show chronicling the rise and fall of a relationship, told through dueling timelines. It’s also the first time this cult classic is hitting Broadway, making it a major milestone for Jonas.
Nick and Priyanka’s real-life love story began with flirtation and red carpet sparks at the 2017 Met Gala, before blossoming into a full-fledged romance the following year. By the end of 2018, they were married in a grand celebration in India, fusing their cultures in a multi-day wedding extravaganza. In 2022, they became parents to Malti Marie, who was born via surrogate.
So while Nick’s onstage relationship in The Last Five Years may unravel, his real-life one with Priyanka seems rock solid—and full of that rare kind of creative and emotional support that artists dream of.
