Matheo, Vivienne’s stepson, becomes a key figure after a leaked video and a laptop explosion bring the crisis to Downing Street. The explosion kills Vivienne, escalating political chaos and forcing Dan Ogilvy to act as interim prime minister and declare a state of emergency.
The series ends with a dramatic showdown. Shagan holds Alex and the others at gunpoint. Matheo alerts the police, and during the struggle, Abigail’s daughter Sylvie shoots Shagan to protect her family. Shagan’s plan collapses, and General Livingston is arrested after Abigail confronts him inside the Ministry of Defence.
Outside Downing Street, Abigail addresses the nation. She announces a general election and pledges a new mandate focused on transparency, honesty, and accountability. The rescue, arrests, and France’s medicine deal stabilize the immediate crisis and give Abigail space to rebuild.
