Holt McCallany, an actor known for his wide range of roles in Hollywood, is gearing up for a big appearance in the final movie of the Mission: Impossible series, The Final Reckoning, where he’ll be starring alongside Tom Cruise.
At the New York City premiere of his upcoming film The Amateur, McCallany took a moment to share his excitement about the upcoming Mission: Impossible film, even though he hasn’t seen it yet. He mentioned that while he hasn’t had a chance to view The Final Reckoning yet, he’s been a fan of the entire Mission: Impossible series and considers it a fantastic franchise.
When it comes to the film’s director, Christopher McQuarrie, McCallany had high praise, describing him as “a wonderful guy,” as well as a talented writer and director. He also referred to McQuarrie as a great human being, and even shared a fun inside nickname for him, calling him “McQ.” McCallany seemed genuinely excited to have worked with McQuarrie, stating it was a privilege to be part of the project under his direction.
McCallany also had words of admiration for his co-star Tom Cruise. The actor, known for his role in Wrath of Man, acknowledged that Cruise is one of the biggest stars in the world and how lucky he felt to share the screen with such a global icon. McCallany expressed his belief that The Final Reckoning will be a huge success, especially because it marks the end of the long-running Mission: Impossible franchise.
For those who aren’t familiar, McCallany will be playing the role of Secretary of Defense Bernstein in the upcoming Mission: Impossible film, which will pick up right where Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning (2023) left off. Alongside McCallany and Cruise, the movie will feature other big names like Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales, and Ving Rhames.
The excitement surrounding this final chapter in the Mission: Impossible series is certainly building, and McCallany is clearly thrilled to be a part of it.
