Hisense has just introduced its new HT Saturn 360 surround speaker system, offering a fresh alternative to Sony’s Bravia Theater Quad, as reported by FlatpanelsHD. Unveiled at IFA 2024, the HT Saturn includes four wireless speakers, a subwoofer, and a control box. This setup is similar to Sony’s offering but with a key difference: the Bravia Theater Quad doesn’t include a subwoofer in the box, requiring separate purchases of the SA-SW3 or SA-SW5 wireless subwoofers.
The HT Saturn boasts a powerful 720W output, which outperforms the Quad’s 504W. It also supports advanced audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. The control box of the HT Saturn handles connections, such as HDMI from your TV, and wirelessly transmits the audio to the speakers and subwoofer.
This new system expands Hisense’s range of sound solutions, adding to their lineup that includes the AX5125H soundbar. The AX5125H is noted for its impressive surround sound experience at a budget-friendly price. While detailed specs, pricing, and release dates for the HT Saturn are not yet available, it’s expected to be a competitive option against the more expensive Sony Bravia Theater Quad.
The HT Saturn aims to provide a significant upgrade over the AX5125H, which we praised in a review for its powerful Dolby Atmos sound at an affordable price (around $299/£299/AU$499). The Quad, priced at $2,499/£2,499/AU$3,699, is considerably more expensive than the AX5125H and even the Sony Bravia Theater 9, which is priced at $1,199/£1,199/AU$1,799.
Though the HT Saturn’s pricing has yet to be revealed, Hisense is known for its competitive pricing, so it may offer a more affordable option compared to the Quad. The potential for a budget-friendly alternative that doesn’t compromise on quality is exciting, especially considering the impressive performance of the AX5125H. If the HT Saturn can deliver similar performance at a lower price, it could be a compelling choice for those seeking high-quality surround sound without breaking the bank.
