During an interview on The Drew Barrymore show, Mirren revealed the story behind her casting in the action-packed franchise and her enthusiastic approach to securing the gig.

Mirren recounted approaching her fellow Fast and Furious cast member, Vin Diesel, at a party and expressing her desire to be a part of the movie series. She shared, “I was shameless. It was embarrassing, really. But he made a little space for me in his movies, which I was very thrilled about.”
