The third season of Hazbin Hotel has now been confirmed to be in production, as is season four.

The second season of the series premiered on Prime Video on October 29th, 2025, and was released with 2 episodes per week, with the finale being released on November 19th, 2025. The series’ seasons three and four will be greenlit together by Prime and A24 at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 (strongly demonstrating their commitment to the series).

The third season of Hazbin Hotel will continue to have its signature musical format featuring all original songs. The show is produced by SpindleHorse Toons, A24 Productions, and Prime Video. Fans are already excited about Season 3 with unofficial posters, fan theories, and other artwork; there are currently no official Season 3 images or trailers released by the production company.

The above information has been compiled largely from the comments made by Vivziepop to this point (April 2026) as well as other official announcements. Please continue to check Prime Video’s website and the official Hazbin Hotel social media accounts or any of Vivziepop’s updates for new information about when production could begin. It is important to keep in mind that animation is a very fluid process, so the timeline of production can change slightly throughout the entire process. There is a huge chance that the third season will be one of the biggest and most eventful seasons ever!

Hazbin Hotel Season 3: Release Date

No official release date has been announced. Creator Vivienne Medrano (Vivziepop) indicated in late 2025 interviews that the wait for Season 3 will be similar to the gap between Seasons 1 and 2 (roughly 1 year and 8–9 months), pointing to a likely 2027 release, possibly summer or late 2027. Season 4 should follow more quickly since both were greenlit and worked on in parallel.

Voice recording for Season 3 wrapped around mid-to-late 2025 (reports mention July 2025), with animation (the most time-intensive part) ongoing. Production timelines for the show’s high-quality musical animation support the 2027 window.

Hazbin Hotel Season 3: Story and Themes

According to Vivziepop, the third season of Helluva Boss is the most premeditated and definitive part of the overarching narrative to date – something that she has been visualizing since the show was first greenlit. In her eyes, this is the beginning of a new arc (or the second half of a three-act structure for the show, possibly spanning 4-6 seasons total) with increased stakes, dramatic discoveries, and new dynamics/relationships between characters and within the world.

The list below of themes and points of emphasis (from creator interviews, along with some spoilers from the second season):

  • Family (the dynamics between members of the Morningstar family and Lilith returning after a 7-year absence, but also the feelings of ‘found family’ that many characters share; Angel Dust’s history and character arc).
  • Revelations, emotional growth, and significant plot twists, described as the ‘most emotionally charged’ season to date, this season will change some characters’ beliefs about themselves and others, and increase the stakes for all characters involved.
  • An expanded view of Hell, focusing on Valentino, Vox (who has been reduced in status, so to speak, after the events of Season 2), Alastor (who will have a more complicated motivation than simply being a trickster or villain), and what will be revealed about their respective stories (including the backstory of Rosie and her powers) and the relationship between Husk and Angel.
  • With ongoing strains between Heaven and Hell, repercussions from Season 2 (like Emily’s role in Heaven), and Charlie trying to redeem herself during conflicts, Lilith’s story develops as a mystery to be resolved slowly over time.
  • Vivziepop has said this builds off previous events in S2 (Handshaking to create deals in Hell, changing hierarchy of Overlords, how family can be involved in the development process). The emphasis will be on leading all the way through each season to help build momentum for the climax of future seasons.
