Hawaii influencer Theresa Calchuela murdered by estranged husband who later shoots himself

An Hawaii influencer was shot dead by her husband, who later died by suicide. Theresa Calchuela was murdered in front on her 11-year-old daughter by her estranged husband Jason Calchuela, 44, late last week. As per the reports by KHON2, Jason later killed himself and his body was found behind the residence.

Court records revealed that Theresa filed for a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband just weeks before her murder. Reportedly, the restraining order was granted. The shooting took place near Pearlridge Center’s parking lot in Waimalu, near Honolulu, as per NBC news.

As per the reports by PEOPLE, citing the petition, Jason had threatened Theresa of murdering her in front of their children. He had allegedly held a knife to his own neck. There was a wellness check following the incident, post which Jason allegedly showed up to Theresa’s home and hid in the garage. As per the court order, the couple had accepted a year of protection and Jason had surrendered his gun due to the court order.
