Has The Cleaning Lady been renewed for Season 5?
The Cleaning Lady had a big change in its story between Season 3 and Season 4 because one of the main actors, Adan Canto, sadly passed away from cancer in January 2024. His death was really tough for the team, and they had to change the whole story for the new season.
Right now, Fox hasn’t said whether the show will be back for Season 5 or not. It hasn’t been cancelled, but it also hasn’t been renewed yet. So, it’s kind of stuck in between.
Before Fox’s big announcement event in May, the president of the network, Michael Thorn, said that they’ll be announcing which shows are coming back in different parts, not all at once. He explained that The Cleaning Lady and some other shows weren’t mentioned yet because they come out in the middle of the year, not in the fall, so there’s still time to decide.
He also said they still really like the show and the people who make it. Just because it wasn’t talked about in May doesn’t mean it’s over. Fox often decides to renew shows later in the year, and we might hear something around summer.
Also, it’s pretty normal for The Cleaning Lady to get late renewal updates. In the past, the show’s new seasons were confirmed weeks or even months after a season ended. So this delay isn’t anything new.
But there’s one problem: the number of people watching the show has dropped. The first two seasons had a lot of viewers, but in Season 3, the numbers went down. Most of Season 3 still had over a million viewers per episode, but the final episodes had fewer, around 850,000 people.
Season 4 started off better, with about 1.3 million people watching the first episode. Most of the other episodes also did okay, staying around the 1 million mark, except for Episode 4. There was a small increase in viewers in Episodes 5 and 6, but then the numbers started dropping again. Episode 7 had around 1.1 million viewers, and Episode 8 had just 1 million. If this drop keeps happening in the last few episodes, it might hurt the chances of getting another season.
Still, since the show has done well before, and Season 4 did show some improvement, there’s a chance Fox might bring it back one last time to finish the story properly. It’s not confirmed yet, but there’s still some hope.
The Cleaning Lady Season 5 plot speculations
Season 4 of The Cleaning Lady opened up a new chapter in Thony’s life, and now everyone’s wondering what might happen next in Season 5. Thony has started working at a hospital again, which seems like a good step. It could help her finally get on the path to becoming a legal citizen, and also get her back to doing proper medical work, the kind she was trained for. But knowing her story, it’s never that simple.
Even though this new hospital job looks like a fresh start, Thony is still very tangled up in dangerous things. She’s deeply connected to the cartel, a world filled with crime and risk, and trying to pull away from that is going to be really tough. In fact, it could even put her in more danger. There’s a new boss now, Jorge, but let’s be real, not much is expected to change just because the leader did.
Meanwhile, Fiona—Thony’s sister-in-law is also stepping into her own complicated world. Her business plans are bound to bring their own set of problems, and her kids are growing up fast and starting to deal with their own messy lives too.
What makes The Cleaning Lady so good is that you never really know what’s coming next. It always keeps you guessing. But based on everything that happened in Season 4, we’ll probably get a bit more clarity about where the story might go. One thing’s for sure: whatever happens in Season 5, it’s going to be intense, emotional, and full of surprises, like a wild roller coaster ride.
The Cleaning Lady Season 5 Cast Details
Trying to guess who will be in The Cleaning Lady Season 5 is kind of tricky, mostly because a lot of characters are in serious danger by the end of Season 4. Except for a few main people, anyone could die. The stakes are high.
Still, one person we’re pretty sure will be back is Élodie Yung, who plays Thony De La Rosa, the main character. After all, this is her story. She’s a former surgeon who got pulled into the world of crime and cleaning up after it. But now, in Season 4, we see her trying to go back to working in hospitals and making her life legal again. That storyline definitely needs more time to play out.
Also expected to return is Martha Millan, who plays Fiona, Thony’s sister-in-law and housemate. The two of them have always had each other’s backs, and Fiona’s character has her own big story happening too.
Fiona’s son Chris, played by Sean Lew, and her daughter Jaz, played by Faith Bryant, will probably return as well. They’re still a big part of Fiona and Thony’s lives. And we’ll likely keep seeing Luca, Thony’s son, who is now played by Khalen Roman Sanchez. He joined in Season 4, taking over the role from twin actors who previously played Luca.
Now, when it comes to the more dangerous side of the story, like the cartel, things get shakier. Santiago Cabrera plays Jorge, the new cartel boss. But in this world, people don’t usually stay in charge for long. Whether or not he makes it to Season 5 depends on what happens in the finale.
And then there’s Ramona, played by Kate Del Castillo. She’s still a big deal even from behind bars, pulling strings and making threats. But being in prison doesn’t exactly keep her safe, she has lots of enemies, and her future is uncertain too.
So, while the main family members are pretty likely to return, the rest of the cast? Their fate depends on how wild and deadly Season 4 turns out to be.
