The second week of January 2024 brought sadness to the daytime soap opera and modeling communities with the news of Alec Musser’s passing. Alec Musser, known for his role on the long-running series All My Children, left behind a career that spanned both modeling and acting.
As of the latest information available, details surrounding Musser’s death remain limited. He passed away at the age of 50 on January 12, 2024, in his home. The announcement of his death was made through the Instagram account of his fiancée, Paige Press.
Alec Musser’s career in show business had its unique trajectory. Beginning as a model for renowned brands like Abercrombie and Fitch, he transitioned to onscreen work later in life. His breakthrough came in 2005 when he won the reality competition I Wanna Be a Soap Star, securing a 13-week contract on All My Children. Musser portrayed Del Henry and continued on the show beyond his initial contract, appearing in 43 episodes until 2007.
Following his soap opera stint, acting opportunities became sporadic for Musser. He took on minor roles in projects such as the 2009 Jaleel White web series Road to the Altar, the Lifetime sitcom Rita Rocks, and a memorable scene in the 2010 comedy Grown Ups. Adam Sandler, who starred and produced Grown Ups, paid tribute to Musser on Instagram, describing him as a “wonderful, funny good man” and “a true great sweetheart of a person.”
Alec Musser’s passing adds to the somber beginning of 2024 for fans of daytime soap operas, as it coincided with the deaths of longtime Days of Our Lives star Bill Hayes and Joyce Randolph, the last surviving member of The Honeymooners.
