At CinemaCon, where the two stars appeared together to promote their new project, Berry opened up to E! News about a powerful moment on set that turned her into Hemsworth’s lifelong fan.
Apparently, while working on Crime 101, Chris Hemsworth stepped up for Halle during a tricky situation — and it left a lasting impact on her. Without getting into all the details, Berry explained that Chris didn’t just talk the talk — he actually put himself out there and stood up for her when she needed it most.
“He didn’t have to do it,” Berry said. “But he did. And in that moment, I knew I would be his fan forever.”
Chris Hemsworth had only recently joined the project himself. He stepped in for the lead role — a jewel thief — after Pedro Pascal had to back out because of a scheduling conflict. Meanwhile, Berry plays an insurance broker trying to catch him.
Talk about a fun match-up!
Chris also had nothing but praise for Halle. He admitted he had been a longtime admirer of her work and felt pretty nervous sharing scenes with her.
“I’ve admired Halle’s work for many, many years,” Hemsworth shared. “Honestly, I was intimidated sitting across from her in a scene. I just hoped I could focus and not be completely awestruck.”
Along with Berry and Hemsworth, Crime 101 has a star-studded lineup including Mark Ruffalo, Monica Barbaro, and Barry Keoghan. With such a strong cast and a powerful real-life bond between the leads, fans are already hyped for what’s sure to be an exciting movie.
