Halle Bailey has officially gotten a restraining order against her ex, rapper and YouTuber DDG, who’s also the father of her child. This legal move now prevents him from coming anywhere near her or their baby boy, Halo.
According to TMZ, the situation got serious after Halle, best known for playing Ariel in The Little Mermaid, came forward with disturbing claims that DDG had both physically and verbally abused her multiple times. The two had broken up back in October 2023, just a couple of months before their son was born in December.
Halle shared screenshots of text messages and photos as evidence, giving a detailed account of what she says happened after she simply tried to talk to DDG about changing visitation hours for their son. That conversation reportedly escalated into violence. She says the abuse began as early as January, with one disturbing incident involving DDG shouting “Get out of my car, B**CH!” right in front of little Halo—who, according to Halle, was so frightened he started crying.
She also submitted photos showing bruises on her body and a chipped tooth, which she says were the result of DDG slamming her into a steering wheel during one of the custody handovers. She shared those injury photos with members of DDG’s own family shortly after it happened.
Halle says the abuse didn’t stop there. Since March, she’s documented even more frightening behavior from him—like allegedly breaking into her home, snapping a photo of her empty bed, and texting it to her with a cryptic message: “Now I know what u been on lol,” implying that she’d been cheating. She also says he damaged her Ring security camera, stole her phone, and later tossed it out of his car, yelling, “GO GET IT B**CH.”
The court has now stepped in. A judge has ruled that DDG must stay at least 100 yards (roughly the length of a football field) away from Halle and their son at all times. On top of that, while Halle and Halo are in Italy for a two-month film shoot, DDG is legally banned from posting anything about them on social media.
