Haley Joel Osment, the actor famous for his role in The Sixth Sense, was arrested on April 8 at Mammoth Ski Resort in California for public intoxication and suspected possession of illegal drugs. The 37-year-old actor was taken into custody after police were called to the scene around 2 p.m. due to reports of his disorderly behavior on the mountain. He was booked for “unruly conduct,” and authorities suspect the substance in his possession may be cocaine, which they have sent for testing. The results are expected soon.
This is not the first time Osment has faced legal trouble. In 2006, at the age of 18, he was involved in a car accident that resulted in charges of DUI and possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to three years of probation for the incident. Another public incident occurred in 2018, when he was involved in a verbal altercation at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. After missing his flight, Osment reportedly became upset, hurling threats and causing two police calls to the scene, though no charges were filed.
As of now, Mammoth Lakes Police confirmed Osment’s arrest and subsequent release. The Mono County District Attorney’s Office has not yet indicated whether they will pursue charges against the actor. The investigation into the situation remains ongoing.
