Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen are so in sync that they even gifted each other the same Christmas present last year. Steinfeld, 27, revealed in her “Beau Society” newsletter that she bought a Miyabi Kaizen chef’s knife for Allen, 28, only to receive the exact same knife in a different color from him.
Avoiding the ‘bad omen’
Steinfeld shared a humorous story behind their gift exchange. According to an old wives’ tale, gifting a knife could symbolize a severing of the relationship unless it’s paid for. “We exchanged quarters so we didn’t have that bad omen,” she recalled. The couple laughed off the superstition, and Steinfeld happily added, “I don’t know much about a chef’s knife, but it is just so nice and makes me feel official.”
Since becoming public in spring 2023, Steinfeld and Allen’s relationship has been filled with laughter and lighthearted moments. “They laugh a ton when they’re together [and] are always smiling,” a source told *Us Weekly* in June 2023. They made their Instagram debut in summer 2023, sharing photos from a romantic trip to Paris. Despite their busy schedules, the couple appears to be handling their relationship with no pressure.
Supporting Allen on and off the field
Steinfeld has also shown her support for the Buffalo Bills quarterback. In another newsletter, she expressed her excitement for football season and how much she enjoys watching Allen play. “I get to watch my favorite person continue to make NFL history every week (go off 17),” she wrote, adding that she enjoys the vibrant energy of the Bills Mafia. The couple is also active in supporting causes together. Earlier this month, they were spotted at a pet adoption event hosted by Allen’s teammate Khalil Shakir and his wife in Buffalo, showing their shared commitment to giving back.
