Google is getting ready to make Gemini Live much more powerful. New findings suggest the voice based AI assistant may soon become smarter, slower when needed, and more helpful during real conversations. These changes are still under testing, but signs of them have already appeared inside beta versions of the Google app.

The updates point to a future where Gemini Live can think deeper, remember more, and even act on behalf of users.

Gemini Live thinking mode and experimental AI features

One of the biggest upcoming changes is something called Live Thinking Mode. This option is designed for moments when quick replies are not enough. Instead of answering instantly, Gemini Live would take a little more time and give detailed and thoughtful responses.

Right now, Gemini Live focuses on speed. It responds fast but keeps answers short. Thinking Mode would give users a choice. Fast replies when time matters. Deeper answers when accuracy or explanation is important. This could make voice conversations feel more natural and useful.

Google is also testing Live Experimental Features. These would give early access to new AI abilities. This includes better handling of background noise during voice chats. Gemini Live may also respond automatically when it sees something through the camera. It could remember things across voice and visual inputs. Responses may also become more personal by using data from Google apps.

Deep Research and phone control coming to Gemini Live

Another feature being tested is Deep Research. This would allow users to assign complex research tasks through voice. Gemini could break down big topics, gather information over time, and return structured results. This feature already exists in text form and may soon arrive in voice mode.

There are also signs of a new UI Control feature. This would allow Gemini Live to control the phone interface directly. It could open apps, tap buttons, and complete actions without the user touching the screen. This moves Gemini closer to becoming a true AI agent rather than just an assistant.

None of these features are live yet. But the testing suggests Google is serious about turning Gemini Live into a smarter and more capable voice AI. If rolled out widely, this could change how people interact with their phones every day.
