Gigi Hadid, who is a mom to 4-year-old Khai, has always made a conscious effort to keep her daughter’s face private on social media. The supermodel recently opened up about her decision to protect Khai’s privacy, explaining that she doesn’t want the pressures of fame and media attention to affect her daughter’s childhood.
Gigi, who co-parents Khai with her ex, Zayn Malik, shared that both parents have agreed to let Khai decide for herself when she’s ready to share her life with the public. Gigi mentioned that their goal is to give Khai the freedom to decide when and how she wants to engage with the world around her.
In an interview with E! News, Gigi expressed gratitude for the love and support Khai receives from fans, despite the fact that her face is rarely shown. In a recent Instagram post, Gigi shared several photos of Khai enjoying playtime and other activities, while still keeping her face hidden. One fan left a comment saying, “Even without showing her face, we can feel how loved and special Khai is.” Gigi replied, “This means a lot,” with a smiley face.
Gigi first addressed the need for privacy regarding Khai back in 2021. She shared an Instagram story asking fans to respect their decision to keep her daughter’s face out of the spotlight. In that post, Gigi explained, “You know we have never intentionally shared our daughter’s face on social media.” She added, “Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age…without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen.”
While both Gigi and Zayn have occasionally posted glimpses of Khai on their social media, they’ve always been careful to maintain her privacy, letting her decide when she’s ready for the public eye.
