Gigi Hadid recently shared a sweet parenting moment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, recalling a fun night she spent with her 4-year-old daughter, Khai, at Medieval Times in New Jersey — and how unexpectedly obsessed Khai became with the chicken.
The supermodel, who co-parents Khai with singer Zayn Malik, said the whole experience was planned out in advance. “The night before, I told her, ‘Let’s check out what Medieval Times is all about.’ So we watched some YouTube videos and got excited to dress up,” Gigi told Fallon.
While the show featured knights, swords, and full-on medieval action, it wasn’t the jousting or costumes that won Khai over — it was the food. “She was so into it,” Gigi laughed. “I cook so many meals at home, and of all things, she decides the Medieval Times chicken is the best chicken she’s ever had. She ate so much of it!”
Hadid admitted she wasn’t sure how Khai would react to all the staged combat, but it turns out the little one was totally unfazed and leaned right into the spectacle. “She really went full princess mode,” Gigi said, adding that she herself kept it low-key. “I was more like the royal assistant — holding the hand sanitizer, crayons, and wipes.”
Gigi and Zayn welcomed Khai in September 2020. Though they split in 2021 following a widely reported family dispute, Gigi has said that their co-parenting relationship is grounded in love and mutual respect. In an earlier interview with Vogue, she acknowledged how tough it is to have personal matters in the public eye, but emphasized that their focus remains on raising Khai together.
