Netflix has finally dropped the release date and trailer for The Witcher Season 4, and fans are in for a whole new chapter of the fantasy epic. The new season arrives on October 30, 2025, and marks a big change — Liam Hemsworth officially steps in as the new Geralt of Rivia, taking over from Henry Cavill, who played the role for the first three seasons.
The trailer gives the first real look at Hemsworth as the monster-slaying Witcher. It opens with him gathering a group of adventurers to find Ciri, played by Freya Allan, who has gone missing. The scenes tease an intense journey filled with danger, showing Geralt fighting soldiers, an enormous ogre, and even a ghostly wraith. One chilling line stands out in the trailer — a voice saying, “You are becoming something new.” It seems to set the tone for Geralt’s transformation as Hemsworth takes on the mantle.
Season 4 picks up right after the chaos of the previous season. Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri have been torn apart by war and now find themselves navigating dangerous lands filled with betrayal and magic. Each of them is trying to survive in their own way, but destiny might still bring them back together. Along the way, they’ll run into both enemies and unlikely allies, setting the stage for dramatic reunions and emotional twists.
A new face joins the mix this season — Laurence Fishburne steps in as Regis, a character who becomes a key ally in Geralt’s quest. Fans will also see the return of familiar names like Jaskier (Joey Batey), Triss Merigold (Anna Shaffer), Fringilla (Mimî M Khayisa), Philippa (Cassie Clare), Milva (Meng’er Zhang), and Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu).
The season will have eight episodes, sticking to the same format as before. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich returns as showrunner, ensuring that the tone and storytelling remain true to the series. The episodes are directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Tricia Brock, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Jeremy Webb, each known for their strong visual storytelling.
Netflix has confirmed that Season 5 will be the show’s final run, which means this new chapter sets the stage for the grand finale of Geralt’s journey.
The trailer, now streaming on Netflix, hints at epic battles, dark magic, and a deeper look into the Continent’s lore. With Liam Hemsworth bringing his own version of Geralt to life and a powerful cast backing him up, The Witcher Season 4 promises to deliver everything fans love — sword fights, monsters, and a story filled with heart, destiny, and danger.
