For several months now, General Hospital devotees have witnessed Sonny, portrayed by Maurice Benard, gradually succumb to a mounting wave of fury. In a recent episode, tensions reached a boiling point at Brook Lynn and Chase’s wedding reception when Sonny unleashed his pent-up anger on Dex, played by Evan Hofer, who notably refused to retaliate. Despite Sonny’s attempt to rationalize his outburst by alleging that Dex had grabbed his arm, viewers were keenly aware that the assault was unprovoked.

General Hospital spoilers: Carly races to save Jason?

The repercussions of Sonny’s violent outburst have reverberated throughout his personal life, straining his relationships with Kristina and Dante. However, despite the fallout, Sonny shows no signs of reining in his temper and addressing the underlying issues driving his rage. Complicating matters further is the clandestine manipulation of Sonny’s bipolar medication by Valentin, portrayed by James Patrick Stuart, a fact that Sonny remains oblivious to.

In a preview clip, viewers catch a glimpse of Sonny once again teetering on the edge of rage, this time directing his ire toward Jason, portrayed by Steve Burton. Sonny perceives Jason as a traitor and a persistent threat, leading to speculation among fans about whether Sonny will attempt to harm Jason. However, given Burton’s recent multi-year contract renewal with General Hospital, it seems unlikely that Sonny’s efforts to eliminate Jason will succeed. Instead, attention turns to whether Carly, played by Laura Wright, will intervene to prevent any potential harm to Jason.

Despite Sonny’s distrust of Carly, there are signs that he is gradually allowing her back into his life. Their interactions may not always be smooth, but Carly’s concern for Sonny’s well-being prompts her to seek him out and confront his erratic behavior. As Carly begins to suspect Sonny’s intentions toward Jason, she may take decisive action to thwart his plans, possibly putting herself in harm’s way in the process. There is also speculation that Carly may enlist the help of John Cates, portrayed by Adam J. Harrington, in her efforts to protect Jason.

Moreover, there remains the possibility that the assailants targeting Jason may not be affiliated with Sonny but rather operatives of Valentin’s scheme to eliminate Jason and frame Sonny for the crime. Valentin’s vendetta against Jason adds another layer of intrigue to the unfolding drama, raising questions about the extent of his involvement in the orchestrated attack.
