Game of Thrones is coming back in a big way in 2026. Not one, but two shows are set to air next year. The first is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which will premiere on January 18, 2026. Later in the year, the long-awaited prequel House of the Dragon Season 4 will arrive in the summer.

HBO is already planning ahead. They have officially renewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for a second season, which will come out in 2027, and House of the Dragon for a fourth season, set for 2028. This means fans can expect new Game of Thrones content for the next few years without long breaks.

HBO executives are excited about the future. Francesca Orsi said that these new seasons will bring even more of George R. R. Martin’s world to life. She mentioned that fans will enjoy the story of Dunk and Egg in January and some of the most epic battles in House of the Dragon this summer.

George R. R. Martin himself confirmed that more Game of Thrones projects are in the works. There are several prequels, spin-offs, and even sequels being developed, meaning the universe is going to keep expanding for a long time.

Game of Thrones fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming years. New stories, epic battles, and familiar characters are all coming, making 2026 the perfect year to dive back into this magical and dangerous world. What part of the Game of Thrones universe are you most excited to see next?
