Former Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide actor Tylor Chase is once again at the center of concern among advocates and former colleagues who are working to connect him with professional care. According to reports, the situation has unfolded in Riverside, California, where supporters say efforts to secure sustained treatment have encountered serious obstacles.

Mental Health Evaluation and Unplanned Release Raise Concerns in Riverside

TMZ reports that actor Shaun Weiss, known for The Mighty Ducks, shared details about recent attempts to help Chase access treatment. Weiss explained that Jacob Harris, the owner of Shipwreck Barbershop in Riverside and a longtime advocate for Chase, contacted a local mental health crisis team after observing Chase’s condition. The team evaluated Chase and placed him under a 72-hour involuntary psychiatric hold, a step typically used when an individual is considered a danger to themselves.

However, Weiss stated that the planned next step—transporting Chase to a detox facility that had already been arranged—did not occur. Instead, Chase was released without notice to the people coordinating his care.

Weiss further told TMZ that Harris later encountered Chase back on the streets late at night, prompting another call to the crisis team. During this second evaluation, Weiss said he was informed that Chase was again deemed a danger to himself, with reports indicating he was using drugs at the time and lacked basic protection from the cold. Despite this assessment, Chase was reportedly left without placement or follow-up support.
