Donald Trump’s former lawyer, Jenna Ellis, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to helping the then-president of trying to overturn 2020 presidential elections. She has also agreed to testify against Trump, if needed.

Ellis is the third member of Trump’s legal team to reach a plea deal since Thursday, following Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro. In all, nineteen people have been charged in sweeping racketeering indictment brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to agree to testify.

With her voice cracking, Ellis told an Atlanta court that she “failed to do [her] due diligence” in vetting claims about voter fraud from other Trump attorneys. She added that she regretted representing Trump post the elections.

The guilty pleas marks significant progress on Willis’ side in securing testimony that could implicate Trump and more other high profiles defendants in an attempt to illegally interfere with the elections.

Ellis,, 38, pleaded guilty to abetting false statements and writing, and aiding. Prosecutors brought to notice that she attended a meeting with Georgia lawmakers where former president’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani made false claims about voting irregularities.
