Finn Wolfhard has shared his mixed emotions about the ending of Stranger Things, particularly his character, Mike Wheeler’s, conclusion in the series. During an interview with People magazine, Wolfhard explained that he felt a mix of happiness, sadness, and confusion after completing the show. While he was satisfied with how everything wrapped up, he admitted to feeling “really happy” but also “sad” and “confused” about the end of such a monumental chapter in his life.
He further reflected on the surreal experience of finishing the show, describing it as “a dream or something” and noting that it didn’t quite feel “real.” The actor mentioned that it wasn’t until the next day that he was able to process the finale and its emotional toll, calling it an “emotional hangover.”
Wolfhard also spoke fondly about the final day of shooting, highlighting how the cast spent time together, making the experience of saying goodbye a little easier. It was “really great to be around” everyone as they wrapped up, and he expressed his gratitude for the journey they all shared.
Looking back on how his life changed after Stranger Things became a global sensation, Wolfhard shared that he never thought he’d want to “go back and do something over.” However, he did mention that if he could, he would have put himself into “therapy” after the show’s rapid rise to fame. He acknowledged that the success of the show came so suddenly that there was little time to process or prepare for the whirlwind experience.
The series’ success has continued to grow with each season, cementing the cast’s place as fan favorites. In addition to Finn Wolfhard, the show stars Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, and others, who all became international stars.
Fans can look forward to Stranger Things Season 5, which is expected to premiere sometime in 2025. In the meantime, fans can revisit earlier seasons to relive the magic of Hawkins and its supernatural mysteries.
