The 2010s girl group Fifth Harmony recently stirred reunion rumors after showing up at the Jonas Brothers’ Dallas concert. The group, who went on an indefinite hiatus in 2018, appeared in matching outfits and performed their hit song Worth It, leaving fans buzzing and hoping for a possible comeback.

Fifth Harmony’s statement on their hiatus
Fifth Harmony originally formed with five members: Camila Cabello, Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui. Camila left in 2016 to pursue her solo career, and two years later, the group announced their hiatus. In March 2018, they shared a statement on X, explaining that after six years of nonstop work, they needed to step back to stay authentic to themselves and explore solo opportunities. They wrote:

“After six years going hard, non-stop, we also realised that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavours.”

What led to the hiatus?
The hiatus came after years of internal tensions, especially following Camila Cabello’s departure. Normani later shared that announcing the break was extremely difficult and emotional for the group. When Camila left, there were reports of issues between her and the other members, with the group dynamic described as “4-against-1.” Camila expressed that she had discussed her feelings with the girls, but the official statement made it seem as though the group only learned about her departure through her representatives. She clarified:

“I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing. The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour. Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was ‘leaving the group’ is simply not true.”

Reports suggested that Camila’s desire to pursue a solo career caused a rift within the group. Several therapy sessions were held to address tensions, but according to Billboard, they were largely unproductive. Ultimately, Camila left in 2016, and two years later, Fifth Harmony officially went on hiatus. The group’s dynamic and the series of statements in the public eye reflected the challenges they faced behind the scenes.

Fans are now left wondering if moments like their recent performance hint at a reunion, keeping the excitement and speculation alive.
