The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is set to hold meetings with independent group of experts to review data of COVID-19 vaccine candidates and advice the agency, FDA commissioner Stephen Hahn said on Wednesday.
“All meetings will be public. There also is an opportunity for the public to provide open comments,” Hahn said in a post on Twitter.
“The meetings will reinforce the transparency of the process as FDA reviews data from trials now underway. The entire FDA scientific and medical staff is firmly committed to an objective review of the data,” Hahn added.

Last month, US President Donald Trump accused members of the “deep state” at the FDA, without providing evidence, of working to slow testing of COVID-19 vaccines until after the presidential election.
