FBI Director Christopher Wray warned a rise in the extremist violence in a Saturday speech amid fighting between Israel and Hamas militant group.
“History has been witness to antisemitic and other forms of violent extremism for for too long. Whether that be from foreign terrorist organisation, or those inspired by them, or domestic violent extremists motivated by their own animus, the targeting of a community because of their faith is totally unacceptable,” stated Wray in a speech at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference held in San Diego, according to FBI website.
He added that there is no question that the threats are on the rise.
He continued that they will continue to confronting those threats, both in their country and overseas. During this time of heightened environment, there’s no question that we will be witnessing more reports of threats, which will require us “to be on the lookout,” he said.
Wray shared that over 3,200 people have died in Israel – Hamas war. Moreover 29 Americans have died in the conflict as well.
