Fallout fans are buzzing after the new trailer for season 2 dropped on Amazon Prime Video. Many viewers think they heard a very familiar voice. If they are right, the show may have quietly added someone who has been part of the Fallout world since 1997, when the very first game came out.

At around one minute and ten seconds into the trailer, a mysterious voice speaks to Walton Goggins’s character, The Ghoul. The voice says, very calmly, that he is going to need friends because a war is coming. The speaker is never shown. The audio also sounds filtered, like it has been altered on purpose. But that did not stop fans from guessing.

In the comments, many people think the voice belongs to Ron Perlman. He is the actor whose voice has guided Fallout players for decades. He narrated Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 76 and Fallout Tactics. He also played smaller character roles in the original Fallout game and in Fallout 4. His voice is one of the most iconic parts of the entire franchise.

One fan on YouTube wrote that the voice “definitely sounds like” Perlman, even with the voice effect. Others quickly agreed. Some said it would be amazing fan service if the show finally brought him in. A few even said they would cry happy tears if this turned out to be true. Many pointed out how perfect it would feel, almost like closing a full circle for longtime players.

Nobody knows yet what kind of character he might be playing. Fans are guessing everything from a Super Mutant to another Ghoul to a completely new human character. Some even wonder if he could return as one of his old roles from the games.

For now, it is all just speculation. But the excitement is real. And fans are waiting eagerly to find out whether the legendary voice of Fallout has finally stepped into the TV version of the wasteland.
