Assassin’s Creed fans are getting restless for the official reveal of Black Flag Resynced. The remake of the 2013 pirate adventure starring Edward Kenway is one of the most anticipated games of early 2026. Social media is buzzing with posts and discussions about the remake.

Rumors about a Black Flag remake have been around for years. They resurfaced in summer 2025 when a fan shared a video with Edward Kenway’s voice actor, Matt Ryan. He teased that players “may have to beat it again.” Other leaks, including one from PEGI, hinted that the game could launch before the end of March 2026. Despite these hints, Ubisoft has not officially revealed the game yet, leaving fans eager for a first look.

Black Flag was released in October 2013 and remains one of the most beloved Assassin’s Creed games. Fans loved its mix of naval battles, stealth missions, assassinations, and high-seas activities like harpoon fishing and bell diving. Many social media posts reflect this nostalgia, with players hoping to return to the Caribbean adventure. A recent tweet asking fans to pick a favorite game setting saw many choose “none of the above,” showing how much they want to revisit Black Flag.

Fans expected a remake trailer at The Game Awards 2025, but it never appeared. Many feel Ubisoft missed a key opportunity, and some are growing impatient. Images and GIFs of the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland have become a common symbol in fan posts, signaling the ticking clock for the reveal.

The remake could also expand on the original game. Reports suggest Black Flag Resynced might include cut content, like Mary Read’s story, giving fans even more pirate adventures to enjoy. Players have shared images and clips of favorite in-game pirates, and one fan joked that they would drink a full bottle of rum every day until Ubisoft finally shows the game.

There are still chances for Ubisoft to reveal Black Flag Resynced soon. Fans hope the remake might appear at the Xbox Developer Direct on January 22. Platforms haven’t been officially confirmed, but speculation points to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. With Ubisoft+ now partnered with Xbox Game Pass, the Developer Direct could be the perfect time for a first look. Even so, the remake will have to compete with other upcoming games like Fable, Forza Horizon 6, and Beast of Reincarnation.
