Blake Lively is facing claims of “paranoid” behavior from a fan who encountered her at a Texas hotel—an incident that has sparked debate about celebrity privacy and public interactions.

Kaitlyn Cooper, a guest at Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas, on March 8, told the Daily Mail that she and her mother were staying at the hotel when they overheard chatter about a mysterious VIP guest. Curious, Cooper later discovered that the celebrity in question was none other than Blake Lively, who had just arrived from Austin after promoting her upcoming film Another Simple Favor at the SXSW festival.

Lively was reportedly at the hotel to meet Joanna Gaines, the hotel’s owner and famed HGTV star.

Cooper recalled that while she was in the hotel’s lounge area, she spotted Lively walking in, dressed casually in jeans and a white shirt. Cooper began filming the It Ends With Us star as she entered the lobby. Noticing the camera, Lively quickly covered her face and was ushered away by hotel staff and security.

The situation escalated the following morning, according to Cooper. As she was loading her car to check out, Lively allegedly approached her and greeted her. Cooper claimed that Lively then pulled out her phone and began filming her, circling the car before handing her phone to her security guard, who continued filming as he walked around the vehicle.

Cooper described the experience as “disturbing” and suggested Lively was acting out of paranoia, likely concerned about footage of her being posted online. “It’s very paranoid behavior. [I think they were] looking out to see if I would post the video of her,” Cooper said.

The alleged encounter comes as Lively is embroiled in a legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. While the details of the case remain unclear, the timing has led some to speculate about heightened tensions surrounding the actress.

Neither Lively nor her representatives have commented on the incident.
