Facebook removes ‘Kenosha Guard’ page after 2 shot dead

Facebook Inc removed a page for Kenosha Guard, a group which had posted a “call to arms” in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The company said the page had been removed for violating the platform’s Dangerous Individuals and Organizations policy.

Created on June 2, the page had over 3,400 followers as of Wednesday morning.

The social media giant also took down the group’s Facebook listing for an event called “Armed Citizens to Protect our Lives and Property,” sources revealed.

A Facebook spokeswoman said the platform was also removing content and accounts tied to the shooting.

It is to be noted here that Kenosha has been rocked by protests for the past three days over the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
