The global energy market saw sharp price moves today. Oil prices slipped. Gas markets also dropped in several regions. But coal and some other fuels showed strong gains. Fresh data shows how energy prices are shifting across the world.

Crude oil is trading at 88.466 USD per barrel. The price dropped by 6.304 points in the last session. That is a fall of 6.65 percent in a single day. Brent crude is also lower. It now stands at 91.743 USD per barrel after a 7.29 percent daily decline.

Energy markets remain highly sensitive. Supply concerns and global demand continue to move prices quickly.

Crude oil price today shows mixed trend across global oil benchmarks

Crude oil prices have dropped today. But the bigger trend still shows strong gains over longer periods.

Crude oil is up 18.58 percent in the last week. Monthly growth stands at 36.80 percent. Since the start of the year prices have surged by 53.98 percent. Year on year growth is still strong at 33.46 percent.

Brent crude shows a similar pattern. Despite the daily fall of 7.29 percent it remains up 12.73 percent this week. Monthly growth stands at 32.22 percent. Year to date gains are at 50.80 percent while yearly growth is 31.91 percent.

Another oil benchmark also jumped sharply. Urals oil is trading at 100.67 USD per barrel. It rose by 10.66 percent in a single session. Weekly gains stand at 61.02 percent. Year to date growth is close to 99.58 percent. The yearly increase is 60.69 percent.

Gasoline prices are also higher over the long term. Gasoline is now priced at 2.6870 USD per gallon. It has gained 57.43 percent since the start of the year.

Natural gas price today drops in US and Europe markets

Natural gas prices moved lower today. The US natural gas price is now 3.0540 USD per MMBtu. It declined by 2.12 percent during the day.

Long term performance looks weaker. Natural gas is down 17.06 percent this year. Yearly decline stands at 31.35 percent.

European gas markets saw even sharper drops. TTF gas in Europe is trading at 48.47 EUR per MWh. It fell by 13.23 percent in one session. UK gas prices dropped even more. UK gas is now at 123.5888 GBp per therm after a 15.52 percent daily fall.

However the longer trend remains strong in Europe. TTF gas is still up 72.07 percent this year. UK gas has climbed 67.25 percent since the start of the year.

German gas prices also showed strength recently. German gas is now priced at 57.11 EUR per MWh. It has gained 90.35 percent year to date.

Coal price and heating oil price jump as other fuels gain momentum

Coal prices moved higher today. Coal is trading at 143.80 USD per ton after a 4.73 percent daily increase. Weekly gains stand at 11.73 percent. Coal has climbed 33.77 percent this year.

Coking coal prices are also rising. The commodity is now at 223 USD per ton. Yearly growth stands at 24.58 percent.

Heating oil prices are also showing strong momentum. Heating oil is trading at 3.5278 USD per gallon. It has surged 66.47 percent since the start of the year. Yearly gains are even higher at 59.54 percent.

Other fuels showed mixed performance. Ethanol stands at 1.8625 USD per gallon. Naphtha rose to 779.24 USD per ton with strong monthly growth of 39.17 percent.

Uranium is currently priced at 85.9000 USD per pound. Propane trades near 0.77 USD per gallon. Methanol in China is at 2500 CNY per ton after a daily drop of 6.61 percent.

Energy prices remain highly volatile. Oil, gas and coal markets are reacting quickly to supply shifts and global demand signals. Analysts say the coming weeks could see more price swings across the global energy market.
