Energy prices moved in different directions today. Oil fell hard. Gas products also slipped. But the bigger picture still shows strong yearly gains in many segments. Some fuels are still up more than 100% this year.
Crude oil and brent fall over 5% in a single day
Crude oil is now at 96.479 USD per barrel. It dropped 5.791 points today. That is a fall of 5.66%. The weekly loss stands at 9.82%. Monthly losses are deeper at 14.67%. But the yearly trend is still strong. Crude oil is up 67.86% this year. It is also 65.98% higher compared to last year.
Brent crude is at 103.314 USD per barrel. It fell 6.556 points today. That is a drop of 5.97%. Weekly losses are at 6.44%. Monthly decline is 5.44%. But Brent is still up 69.81% year to date. It is also up 69.06% year on year.
Urals oil is trading at 112.49 USD per barrel. It actually gained 1.73% today. But its monthly trend is down by 9.90%. Still, the yearly jump is huge at 123.02%. It is up 100.48% from last year.
Natural gas and ttf gas slide while lng gains 1.01%
Natural gas is at 2.7183 USD per MMBtu. It fell 2.50% today. Weekly gains are 2.81%. But the yearly trend is negative. It is down 26.17% this year and 24.84% year on year.
TTF gas in Europe is at 43.89 EUR per MWh. It dropped 6.46% today. Weekly loss is 6.45%. Monthly decline is 17.67%. Yet it is still up 55.68% this year and 28.01% compared to last year.
UK gas is also under pressure. It is down 6.64% today. Monthly losses are steep at 20.72%. But yearly gains remain at 45%.
LNG JKM is one of the few gainers. It rose 1.01% today. Weekly gain is 3.37%. Still, it is down 14.68% for the month. But the yearly gain is strong at 77.36%.
German gas is at 48.16 EUR per MWh. It dropped 2.34% today. But weekly gains stand at 7.33%. Year to date growth is 60.54%.
Gasoline jumps 102.30% YTD while heating oil rises 93.34%
Gasoline is priced at 3.4641 USD per gallon. It dropped 4.32% today. Weekly loss is 3.65%. But monthly gain is 4.72%. The yearly jump is massive at 102.30%. It is also up 70.76% from last year.
Heating oil is at 3.8182 USD per gallon. It fell 5.26% today. Monthly losses are at 14.71%. But the yearly gain is 80.01%. Year on year increase is even higher at 93.34%.
Naphtha is at 897.56 USD per ton. It dropped 4.70% today. Monthly fall is 9.85%. Still, it is up 83.79% this year and 67.01% from last year.
Propane is at 0.89 USD per gallon. It fell 2.41% today. But weekly gain is strong at 9.30%. Monthly gain is 16.22%. Yearly increase stands at 39.93%.
Coal is at 134.40 USD per ton. It slipped 0.85% today. But it is still up 25.02% this year.
Ethanol is at 2.0250 USD per gallon. It dropped slightly by 0.98%. But it shows steady growth with 27.56% gains this year.
Uranium remains stable at 86.45 USD per pound. No daily change. But it is up 23.15% year on year.
Methanol is priced at 3200 CNY per ton. It saw a small dip of 0.19%. Still, it has gained 46.12% this year.
Coking coal is at 235 USD per ton. No daily change. But yearly growth stands at 7.55%.
The energy market is clearly mixed right now. Daily losses are sharp. But long term gains are still strong. This shows that volatility is still high across global energy markets.
