It’s official—Emily in Paris is coming back for a Season 5! The cameras are set to roll starting this May, with production kicking off in Rome before heading back to Emily’s familiar Parisian world. Fans can expect a mix of returning characters, new adventures, and, of course, some drama. However, one familiar face won’t be returning for the new season.

Netflix has confirmed that production for Season 5 will begin soon, starting in the Italian capital of Rome and then returning to Paris, where the series is most beloved. Lily Collins, who plays Emily, is returning, along with her fellow regulars Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Ashley Park (Mindy), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine), and Lucien Laviscount (Alfie). Eugenio Franceschini, who played Marcello (the dreamy Italian from Season 4), will also be back—possibly as a full-time cast member this time.

However, one key cast member is missing from the list of returning faces: Camille Razat, who plays Camille, Emily’s friend-turned-rival. Camille has been a major part of the show since the first season, but after her dramatic exit in Season 4, when she revealed she faked a pregnancy to win back Gabriel, it’s not surprising that she won’t be back for Season 5. Still, creator Darren Star has hinted that even when characters leave, it’s not always the end for them, so a return in the future could still be on the table.

Fans will also be pleased to know that the famous love triangle between Gabriel, Alfie, and Emily seems far from over. There were concerns about Lucas Bravo (Gabriel) not returning after expressing frustration with the show’s creative direction, but he has officially signed on for Season 5, so the love drama continues.

The Roman setting in Season 5 picks up right where the Season 4 finale left off, where Emily was offered a job in Rome, setting up that cliffhanger. However, fans of Parisian glamour can breathe a sigh of relief—Darren Star confirmed that this won’t be a permanent move for Emily. “It’s definitely not a permanent move,” he reassured fans, so there will still be plenty of the Parisian magic that fans love.

With Season 5 set to premiere in 2025, it promises to bring more stylish moments, dramatic twists, and a fresh dynamic as Emily navigates life and love in both Paris and Rome. While one face might be missing, Emily’s world is still full of surprises, and there’s sure to be more exciting drama ahead.
