Chrissie Watts has made a shocking return to EastEnders just before Christmas. Tracy Ann Oberman is back in the role, and her comeback has changed everything.
Chrissie was last seen in September 2024. She had just been released from prison. She spent 20 years behind bars for killing Den Watts, Sharon’s father. After her release, she seemed ready for a fresh start. She even left with her old love Jake Moon, looking happy and free.
But that peace did not last.
Chrissie is still full of anger. And this time, her focus is on someone else in Albert Square.
For months, Zoe Slater has been living in fear. Someone has been targeting her. The attacks were cruel and constant. With Christmas celebrations coming up, Zoe felt the danger was closer than ever.
Kat and Alfie Moon felt the same fear. All they wanted for Christmas was for the nightmare to stop.
At The Vic, Zoe had an awkward moment with Jasmine Fisher. Viewers know Jasmine is Zoe’s daughter, who Zoe believes is dead. Zoe invited her for Christmas lunch. Jasmine turned her down and said she already had plans.
Jean Slater then arrived to lift the mood and took Zoe out shopping.
While Zoe was gone, Kat spotted Sam Mitchell hanging around the pub. Kat wondered if Sam was the one hurting Zoe. Sam quickly shut that down. She revealed she has breast cancer and was looking for Zack Hudson to talk.
Back at home, Zoe found something unexpected. A card from her estranged son. She had been trying to find him for months. Inside was an Ibiza keyring she lost in hospital back in 2006. He said he would arrive the next day to see her.
At the same time, Anthony Trueman struggled with his past. He drank alone and tore up an old photo of himself and Zoe.
During Yolande Trueman’s carol concert, rain poured down. Jasmine made a phone call. She said she needed to talk. Flashbacks then revealed the truth.
Jasmine was the one behind everything happening to Zoe.
She walked toward a car on Edward Road and told the driver she had done everything asked of her. She said she was starting to regret it.
Then the driver was revealed.
It was Chrissie Watts.
Chrissie promised that Zoe was about to have a Christmas she would never forget.
