In a recent development in his ongoing lawsuit, Drake has amended his legal complaint, now expanding it to 107 pages from the original 81. The amended filing makes serious accusations against Universal Music Group (UMG), claiming that the label deliberately orchestrated a campaign to defame Drake by promoting Kendrick Lamar’s diss track at both the Super Bowl halftime show and the Grammys.

The song, which includes pointed lyrics directed at Drake, was showcased to over 133 million people, including “millions of children” who were likely unaware of the controversy before the performance. Drake’s legal team is asserting that this public airing of the diss track was meant to assassinate Drake’s character. They specifically claim that it was the first Super Bowl halftime performance intentionally designed to harm the reputation of another artist.

Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that Kendrick Lamar was pressured to omit the word “pedophile” from his lyrics during the live performance to avoid any backlash, with the legal team suggesting that the performance would have been canceled if the controversial term had been included. Drake’s team strongly asserts that falsely labeling someone as a “certified pedophile” is not only damaging but unacceptable.

Further complicating the matter, the complaint highlights that UMG continued to support and promote Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl, despite the ongoing legal battle. Drake’s legal team claims that UMG’s actions were done with the intent to cause harm to Drake, pointing out that the label’s involvement in the promotion was deliberate.

Drake’s attorney, Michael Gottlieb, expressed confidence that the amended complaint strengthens their case, noting that UMG’s PR attempts and attempts to avoid discovery will not suppress the truth. Gottlieb stated that Drake is now fully prepared to expose the evidence of misconduct and hold Universal Music Group accountable for its actions against their client.

This lawsuit continues to grow in complexity, with Drake and his legal team looking to make their case stronger and potentially expose serious issues within the music industry’s biggest players.
