DocuSign shares climbed 5% on Thursday after the company revealed it is teaming up with OpenAI to integrate its Intelligent Agreement Management platform directly into ChatGPT.
This new feature will let ChatGPT users create, sign, and manage contracts simply by talking to the chatbot. Instead of switching between apps, users will be able to handle the entire agreement process, from drafting to completion, using plain conversational prompts.
DocuSign’s CEO, Allan Thygesen, said the move represents how AI is transforming everyday work. He explained that connecting trusted tools like DocuSign directly to ChatGPT will help people turn conversations into actions more efficiently and securely.
The integration uses OpenAI’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), a framework that allows outside apps to safely connect to ChatGPT. DocuSign showcased the new feature during its annual developer event, DocuSign Discover.
Through this connection, users could soon draft rental agreements, create purchase orders, or even find contracts close to expiration, all by asking ChatGPT.
With more than one billion agreements processed every year for around 1.7 million customers, DocuSign sees this partnership as a key step in making its Intelligent Agreement Management tools available wherever people work.
