The Kardashian sisters seem to still have issues with their late father Robert Kardashian Sr.’s third wife, Ellen Pierson. On the season 6 finale of The Kardashians, Kim and Khloé talked about dreams they’d recently had about their dad, who passed away in 2003 from esophageal cancer.
Kim explained that in her dream, her father was still alive and living in L.A. with Ellen, the woman he married shortly before he died. Just the mention of Ellen’s name made Khloé visibly cringe and say, “Ew,” which made it clear that there’s still tension around her.
Kim didn’t stay on the topic for long, and the conversation quickly shifted to Khloé’s dreams about their dad. But during her solo interview, Kim mentioned Ellen again. When a crew member confused her reference with Ellen DeGeneres, she laughed and joked that having the talk show host in the dream instead would’ve been preferable—another clear dig at Pierson.
There’s a history of drama there. Back in 2013, Ellen Pierson sued the entire Kardashian family for defamation, including Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Rob, Kris Jenner, and even KUWTK producer Ryan Seacrest. She accused them of dragging her into shady plotlines on their reality show. Around the same time, Khloé publicly slammed Pierson, claiming she took advantage of their dad when he was very sick and mentally vulnerable, implying the marriage itself wasn’t genuine. The case didn’t go anywhere and was thrown out in 2014.
Robert Kardashian Sr. was best known for being part of O.J. Simpson’s legal team and for his marriage to Kris Jenner, which lasted from 1978 to 1991. After Kris, he briefly married Jan Ashley, then finally married Ellen Pierson in 2003—just weeks before he passed away.
Even though it’s been over two decades, it’s clear the bad blood with Ellen still lingers for the Kardashians.
