DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro leak suggests price hike, but with major upgrades

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro leak points to a 10% price hike compared to its predecessor, the Osmo Action 4, but for good reason. The Action 5 Pro features 64GB of internal storage, a 40MP camera, and impressive capabilities like super slow-motion and night mode, making it a strong rival to the GoPro Hero 13 Black.

New leaks about the upcoming DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro reveal significant details ahead of its anticipated launch. DJI’s latest action camera, which rivals the GoPro Hero 13 Black, will come with a noticeable price increase but for some exciting reasons, including built-in memory and new features.

According to the leaks, the Osmo Action 5 Pro’s Adventure Combo, which bundles two extra batteries, a charging case, and a 1.5m selfie stick, will cost around €479. In comparison, the current Osmo Action 4 bundle is listed at €429 on DJI’s store, though it’s currently on sale for €379. This represents a price hike of about 10% for the Action 5 Pro. If similar pricing strategies are applied in the U.S. and U.K., the Adventure Combo could cost approximately $449 and £419, respectively. A cheaper Standard Combo version of the Action 5 Pro is also expected to be available.

One of the key upgrades of the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is its camera. While it retains the f/2.8 aperture lens and 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor from its predecessor, the Osmo Action 4, the new model will reportedly support 40MP stills— a huge jump from the 10MP capabilities of the Action 4. This increase in resolution raises expectations for sharper images, but it’s yet to be seen if DJI can maintain the Osmo Action 4’s excellent low-light performance.

The Action 5 Pro is also rumored to offer a super slow-mo feature capable of recording at 960fps, plus a night mode—though specific details on the latter remain unclear. Perhaps the biggest new addition is the inclusion of 64GB of internal memory, a feature not typically found in rival action cameras. This built-in memory could be useful as a backup or if users forget their microSD cards. This internal memory, along with the “Pro” moniker, may explain the slight price increase.

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is expected to launch later this month, offering enhanced features that could appeal to both professional creators and casual users looking for high-quality action footage.
